Storm Plastics flexible plumbing fittings are manufactured to alleviate the effects of re-active soils, i.e. broken stormwater and sewer drains, which are the major cause of houses cracking, also revolutionising the repair and cut-ins to sewer and stormwater uPVC drains.

PVC Swivel Joints

The swivel joint is a male/female flexible sewer / DWV “knuckle” joint with flexibility at normally fixed positions to compensate for natural movement of the soil.

Application

- For drainage where soil and building foundations are prone to differential movement which causes pipe fracture.

- Pipe repairs, stacks, cut ins and flexible connections.

Features & Benefits

•	Swivel fittings have the ability to rotate 360 degrees and 15 degrees off straight line.
•	Able to expand 50mm for the 100mm type, and 60mm for the 150mm type.
•	Wrapped in a water proofing membrane with copper sulphate to deter root intrusion.
•	Swivel joint will alleviate breakage of pipe line at foundation level and at inlet and outlet of septic systems.
•	Easy installation.

PVC Expansion Joints

EXPANDA JOINT is being used extensively in repair work because they are a quick, easy and cost-effective method of cutting in to an existing installation.

The Expanda Joint has been tested by NATA (National Association
of Testing Authorities Australia) and authorised in all states by the various Water Boards. The Expanda Joint complies with Australian Standards.

Application

The Jointing of ABS to PVC

Can you tell the difference?

PVC- Polyvinyl Chloride
ABS- Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene

•	Different Molecular Structures
•	Different Thermal Expansion Rates
•	Solvents and cements not cross-compatible
•	Require different joining systems

AS/NZS 2032 - 2006 - 4.8 states:

•	Complying mechanical couplings or metal banded flexible couplings to join materials of different materials having same or similar nominal diameter.
•	It is the plumbers responsibility to ensure correct materials are used.
•	Always check the AS/NZS (standards).
•	It is best to not mix dissimilar materials- either install a full PVC system or a full ABS system.
